MDC Filmworks

Good stories need no passport. MDC Filmworks makes films drawn from the texture of Indian life — particular, honest, and built to travel. Founded by Nikhil Chaudhary, we've produced five feature films now streaming on leading international platforms, each shaped by a commitment to craft and a belief that the most specific stories are often the most universal ones.

Jhansi Ka Rajkumar

Drama / Comedy100 minHindi

Raj and Divyani are a young Delhi couple in an unexpected role reversal — she becomes the breadwinner, he the homemaker. What follows is a sharp, warm comedy of social embarrassment as the neighbourhood turns on them, the marriage cracks, and the men around them conspire to restore the old order. A comedy with a quiet social conscience — about the uncomfortable distance between loving a partner and truly respecting them.

Line Production

India is
our studio.

Apart from producing our own films, we extend our expertise to international productions coming to India.

We've spent years making films across this country. We know it the way you know a language — not just the words, but the rhythm, the shortcuts, the places that make you feel something. If you're bringing a production to India, we know how to make it work.

01
Locations & Logistics

From the Himalayas to the Thar Desert, from Kerala's backwaters to the Brahmaputra plains — we scout, secure, and manage locations across India with a production sensibility that comes from years of actually shooting here. We know which locations photograph beautifully and which come with complications, and the difference matters.

02
Crew & Equipment

Access to a curated network of experienced local crew — cinematographers, sound recordists, art directors, production designers, fixers, and co-ordinators — who have worked on productions of all scales, domestic and international. We connect you with equipment houses that understand the demands of international productions.

03
Permits & Clearances

India's production paperwork can be complex — but it doesn't have to slow you down. We make the whole process seamless: location permits, police NOCs, ministry clearances, forest department permissions, drone authorisations. Tell us what you need. We'll handle the rest.

04
Subsidies & Grants

India and several of its states offer production incentives, subsidies, and co-production treaties that most foreign productions don't know how to access. We do. We've navigated these processes ourselves and can help you unlock real value from your production spend before cameras even roll.

05
Cultural Consultation

Making a film set in India? We offer deep cultural consultation to ensure your production is authentic, sensitive, and accurate — drawing on our network of writers, researchers, historians, and community liaisons. The right insight at the right moment can shape a production profoundly.

Bringing a production to India?
Let's talk before you start.

The conversations before production begins are often the most valuable ones. We're happy to consult early — on budget, feasibility, and what India can offer your project.

Careers at MDC Filmworks

We don't hire often.
When we do, we look for
people who make things.

We're a small team that punches above its weight. If you care deeply about film — not the industry of film, but the actual thing — and you want to be part of making it, we'd like to know you exist. Send us your reel, your CV, and something you've made that you're proud of, however small. We'll look at everything.

We don't have open roles most of the time. But when we do, we look here first.
